Steve Bish - Profile
Steve is a former England International Badminton player whom competed all over the world. Since retiring from playing , Steve has coached for 18 years players of all ages and standards , including over 20 Junior and Senior International players. Over the past 10 years Steve has been heavily involved with Badminton England in the development and delivery of coach education , author to a number of CPD courses and tutor/assessor to Level 1 , 2 and 3 UKCC courses. For a day job , Steve has been a Partnership Development Manager In Essex for 7 years and is now heavily involved with school sport development and the School Games , based at a Secondary School in Benfleet.
Course Description
The workshop will focus on developing an understanding of the key principles to effective movement as well as the specifics involved in moving to all areas of the court. Coaches will explore movement patterns used by elite players and sample activities to teach these core skills to our younger players. Movement patterns will be discussed and sampled from both a technical and tactical perspective , linking movement to the game of badminton. Effective movement often involves choices and appropriate selection , this course will allow coaches to evaluate varying methods.
Learning Outcomes
1. To develop a solid understanding of the qualities required to be an effective mover.
2. To understand and be able to demonstrate a range of correct movement patterns to the different areas of the court.
3. To understand and be able to coach movement from a tactical as well as technical perspective.
