Devon starts the season on a high
Devon Minnis got her season off to a great start at the Under 15s Nottingham Gold Championships when she reached the semi-finals in all three events, partnering Sophie Brealey (Derby) in the girls doubles and Kyle Cherry (Northants) in the mixed. In the singles Devon was up against Englands no 1, Jessica Pugh and just lost out in a very close match, 24-22, 21-15, returning home with three well deserved bronze medals.
But the best news for Devon came later in the week when she was selected to represent England in the Danish Junior Cup to be played in the middle of October. Her proud parents felt that it was a just reward for all her hard work and dedication and Devon is very excited at the prospect of playing for England for the first time - a dream come true.
